Stay Calm!!

The lines in the stores are ridiculous! Didn’t that woman see me about to pick up that sweater? Oh no, I forgot to get a present for little Johnny!

Aunt Betsy just called to see if she can bring the cat with her to the family dinner. NO!! I’m allergic to cats – you know that!

If the holidays could just come and go already!

We are all feeling the pressure this time of the year. You are not alone!

Today’s passage reminds us to stay calm! The enemy is waiting for you to let your guard down so he can pounce on your emotions. Refuse to give in to it. Refuse to lose your focus. The holidays are about love and family. Let that be your focus! LOVE and FAMILY!!

Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

1 Peter 5:9

The holidays only come once a year. Soon they will be over and life will be full of other hectic schedules and deadlines. Sorry but I must be honest!

Stay focused on God, he will keep you from falling. He will help you through it. He will help you maneuver what appears to be chaos. Truth is…. Your life is NOT chaotic! Your faith is just being stretched. Hang in there!

Until Next Time,

Get Out Your Head!!

Most of our battles are the result of our own thoughts. Thoughts that we will fail or even that we may succeed. We stay in our comfort zones because it’s what we know.

Today’s passage is a reminder that God already gave us victory! He gave us victory over our thoughts, over our emotions, over our shortcomings, over our fears.

But now in a single victorious stroke of Life, all three—sin, guilt, death—are gone, the gift of our Master, Jesus Christ.

Thank God! 1 Corinthians 15:57 MSG

This whole week we’ve been talking about victory! How we have already won! But we will sit in a place of defeat and comfort because we don’t “think” we have it or maybe even feel we don’t deserve it.

Get out of your head and start living the life you desire to live. You messed up – okay. You sinned – okay. You feel guilty about what you did – okay. But you don’t have to die in it! Ask God for forgiveness, forgive yourself and start again!!!

We can control the battles in our mind. We can change the perception. We have the power over our thoughts.

Declare today is the day that you stop allowing your past mistakes to wreak havoc over your life. TODAY is the day you put a stop to all the negative thoughts in your head and declare VICTORY is mine.

Declare I have VICTORY over my thoughts. VICTORY over my past. VICTORY over my concern of what others think. VICTORY IS YOURS!!

Until Next Time,

I am a CONQUEROR!!

Society, history and even our own thoughts will have us look at our situation and decide it’s too much. It’s more than we can handle. It’s more than God can handle. That it will never change. That it will “kill” us. That we will never get over it.

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. Romans 8:37

Today’s passage reminds us that we are MORE THAN CONQUERORS! Not only can we overcome any obstacle that we come in to contact with but we can defeat it! We can get the better of! We can overtake it! We can conquer it!

Whatever it is! You don’t have to bow down to mistreatment. You do not have to turn your face and act as if it didn’t happen. Living a life of defeat is not who you are nor who God requires you to be.
He has given you victory over it all. Don’t let it faze you! Don’t bow to it! Don’t let it distract you! Declare victory! You are an overcomer! You are a conqueror!

The second part of this passage says we can do this (conquer) through the one who loves us (Christ)!!

I am a conqueror because Christ loves me. I am victorious because He loves me. I am an overcomer because He loves me. I can walk with my head up, stick my chest out and let confidence be my crown because HE LOVES ME. I will not be defeated. I will not allow the world to make me feel defeated. I will not allow circumstances to control my happiness. I will NOT!

I am loved by Christ and because of that I am a conqueror! I am a survivor! I am a WINNER and so are you!!

God Give Abundance!! John 10:10

The enemy has a job. It’s to kill, steal and destroy. Kill your dreams, steal your hope and destroy your future! He really had no desire to kill you as a person. In fact, he wants you to live. To live a miserable life. To live in fear and worry. To live in lack. To live in poverty. To live without hopes of having all you desire. He wants you to “live”.

But you don’t have to live like that!! God has created a plan to allow you to live in and with abundance. What is abundance? Google defines it as “a large quantity of something; plentifulness of the good things of life; prosperity; an overflow”.

Scripture tells us He will open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing, that there will not be room enough to receive (Malachi 3:10) NOW – That’s the abundance!! That’s plentifulness! That’s overflow! That’s a large quantity of good things!

That’s what God wants for you! He does not want you living a life of mediocracy. Worrying about how you are going to pay your bills. Worrying about who likes you and who don’t. Worrying about who is impressed and who’s not. He doesn’t want you stressing over things out of your control.

These are the battles He wants to fight for you. We will always have enemies (remember He prepares a table before our enemies), there will always be a lack (the poor will be around you always), there will always be something to worry about (let tomorrow have its worries) but today we don’t have to focus on that! We can concentrate on the abundance that God has provided for this day!

Try not to let worry consume your thoughts. Focus on things that are pure. Things that are of good report. I do not live in a vacuum so I know things come up. But you have the ability to control your thoughts. You have the ability to declare peace over your life. You have the power to speak life into any situation.

God says abundance! I’m declaring my abundance! I’m declaring my overflow! I’m declaring my plentifulness!

Until Next Time

God to the RESCUE!!!

Have you ever “told” God have your way? Thy will be done! Jesus take the wheel. And when HE does you complain! He closed a door and you pull on it trying to open it back up. He tells you to move and you sit still. You ask for blessing, He shows you how to get it and then you must “pray” about it. This passage reminds us that God is always right there waiting for us to ask for his help.

17 Is anyone crying for help? GOD is listening, ready to rescue you. (MSG)

Here’s the key –YOU MUST GIVE IT TO HIM!

Have you ever seen a person struggling to open a bottle? You want to help but they haven’t asked for your help. So, you sit waiting for them to finally ask “Can you help me?” Imagine God doing that to you. You are struggling. Life has gotten the best of you or so it seems. You are ready to give up but determined this will not beat you! Now imagine God sitting there waiting for you to give it to him to fix.

How much time and energy have you wasted? How much stress have you caused? How much anxiety are you facing trying to do it your way?
God is ready to RESCUE you!! Will you ask HIM for help or continue doing it your way?

Until Next Time,

If this helped you share it with your friends!!

Who You Listening To? Isaiah 8:10-13

Isaiah 8:10-13

It’s easy to get caught up in the hoop-lah of chaos! I mean think about it, have you ever been in a situation where someone is mad about something someone else did. They tell you about it. Now you mad. What how that happen?

Granted there are really some instances where it’s warranted, like war, abuse, child endangerment, etc. But what about those days when your coworker comes in and says someone cut them off on the highway. They are furious! Then you find yourself furious. Why?

It’s human nature. Did you know we gravitate towards anger and dysfunction? But you don’t have to! You have a choice. You can decide your own fate and your own happiness. You have a choice to decide if you will be happy or if you will be mad.

This passage instructs us not to fall prey to the “counsel” of others. In other words, don’t allow the words or actions of others take the lead in how you feel. Be led by the guidance of the Holy Spirit. God, is with you everywhere you go. Ready to handle any situation that arises. But you must follow his direction. Follow his instruction.

Separate yourself from those that are constantly producing negativity. Depart from those that only see the glass a half full. The truth is; regardless if the glass is half full or half empty you have a glass and someone else don’t. Rejoice in your abundance!
